Accessibility
We want this site and our training to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions.
Standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
- Every interactive control is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Collapsible sections use standard accessible patterns so screen readers announce their state.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text, and information shown in an image is also available as text.
- Text and background colours are checked for contrast.
- Animation is reduced automatically for anyone who has asked their system for reduced motion.
- The layout works down to small phone screens without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
- Scanned certificates are images. The information on them is repeated as text beside each one.
- Payment and registration are completed on third-party platforms whose accessibility we do not control.
- Course video captions are provided in English and Spanish; some older material may lag.
Tell us if something does not work
If you hit a barrier on this site or in a course, email info@sierrasafe.org and describe what happened and what you were using. We aim to respond within five business days and will offer the information you needed in another format in the meantime.
